How to Raise Your Vibrational Energy
You probably learned in school that everything in the universe, including humans, is made up of atoms. Quantum physics tells us that inside the inner workings of an atom, there is nothing except energy waves (protons, neutrons, and electrons). Atoms continually give off and absorb light and energy; each with its own distinct frequency or vibration.
It’s not just humans though, even objects that appear to be stationary are in fact vibrating, oscillating and resonating at various different frequencies.
Some vibrations we can see, feel and measure. For example; breathing rate, heartbeat and circadian rhythm. Whereas others like the tiny molecules in our bodies are much less noticeable to the human eye.
Research has shown that the electromagnetic energy associated with vibrations causes changes in your cells, which in turn can affect how your body functions. In simple terms, some molecules vibrate faster than others (high and low vibrations).
When your vibrations are high, you feel positive, joyful, and at ease. When your vibrations are low you feel, negative, fearful, stressed and anxious. As the Law of Attraction says like attracts like. If someone walks into a room with a ‘bad vibe’ about them, it instantly makes people feel on-edge and attracts more negative energy. On the flip side, if you see a child cuddling a cute puppy you get that warm fuzzy feeling inside that creates positive energy. So, the higher your vibrations, the more likely you are to attract positive things, people and experiences into your life.
So, how can we raise our vibrational energy?

Get out in nature
Take yourself away from the constant buzz of electricity and technology, and reconnect with Mother Nature. Even just spending five minutes outdoors can completely shift your mindset. If you can, go barefoot and feel the grass between your toes. Trees also have a naturally high vibration, so placing your hands or leaning against one can really help to lift your mood.
Be kind to others
How good does it feel when you help someone? Kindness and compassion are both super-high vibrational emotions! When you show kindness to a friend, family member or even a stranger it quickly raises your mood. Acts of kindness also make us think about how lucky we are, which puts us in a higher energetic state.
Show some gratitude
Just like kindness, showing gratitude instantly puts us in a higher vibrational state. Rather than focusing on what you don't have, make a list of all the things you’re thankful for in your life. It might be your family, your pet, the weather, or the fact you’ve managed to not kill one of your house plants.
When you make practising gratitude a habit, it can transform your outlook on life. You become more aware and start to appreciate the little things in life. A great way to do this is by journaling.
Take a moment to breathe
This one is simple but super effective! Deep breathing calms your nervous system and helps you feel at peace. A great way to do this is using the three-part breathing technique. This simple technique can help you:
lower your heart rate
relax, lowering the harmful effects of the stress hormone cortisol on your body
lower blood pressure
change how you feel and focus
slow your rate of breathing so that you expend less energy

Ditch the toxins
As the saying goes… “you are what you eat”. While the immediate effects of toxins such as alcohol and fatty foods can make you feel great, the aftereffect is often the opposite.
By eliminating toxins in your body you can uplift your vibrational energy. Try to cut out highly processed, chemical foods and alcohol that lower your vibration. Instead, choose anything natural, colourful and from the earth.
Try out Reiki
Reiki is a healing practice that directly involves shifting energies. Reconnect with your purpose in life and re-discover your ability to heal yourself by loosening negative energies, and charging your energetic field with positive energy.
If you’re interested in learning more about Reiki, Anne Marie a Reiki Master Teacher has created a Reiki Level 1 course to help you on your journey to self-empowerment, healing and transformation.
Take some time for yourself
Self-care brings balance into your life. Whether you like having a pamper session, learnings a new craft, going for a run or practising yoga, doing more of the things that make you happy does wonder for raising your vibe.
Move your body
Exercise might seem like an obvious one but, it really works! Exercise releases endorphins, gets your blood pumping and your body working. Whether it’s hitting the gym, dancing in your front room or going for a walk, exercise is a great way to get you out of your own head and release stress.
Listen to music
Popping on some music that you love and that makes you happy is a great way to de-stress and let go! Especially if it’s a song you can sing along and have a dance to.
Another great way to raise your vibe is by listening to binaural beats. Binaural beats are auditory illusions that occur when you hear different frequency sounds in different ears. It involves listening to two tones of different frequencies, one in each ear, which causes your brain to make up the difference in frequency - thus balancing your energy.
Surround yourself with high-vibe people
Don’t waste your energy on people who drag you down. Find people that lift you up, that are aligned with your values and beliefs. People that support you and want what’s best for you, that push you to fulfil your full potential.
These are just a few of the simple and effective ways to raise your positive vibrations and your mood. However, please bear in mind that if your low mood doesn't lift after a few days, there may be an underlying issue that requires professional support.
